The 50th Jubilee of St John's School, Mairangi Bay will be held 18th/19th/20th March 2011.
These past 50 years are pretty special, so we're making every effort to celebrate them the way they should be celebrated. This historic event will touch the current community and those that have been associated with the school over the past five decades; this is literally thousands of families, friends of the school, organisations, and individuals. A wonderful programme of events will take place over the weekend that enables celebration of the past and present including:
This significant event will culminate in a celebration Mass on Sunday 20th March to be given by Bishop Patrick Dunn. This event alone is expected to draw a congregation of around 500. To accommodate this and all events over the weekend a large marquee will be erected on the field at St John's School. We invite you to take part in this historic event and we have designed various options where you can assist with funding.
The Jubilee is undoubtedly the most significant event in the 50 year history of St. John's School. Because of this we are creating a lasting legacy; a monument significant enough to last for at least the next 50 years and more. Local artist and iconographer Michael Pervan has been commissioned, and he is creating a sculpture in marble that will take three months to hand-craft and will be a breathtaking tribute and depict explicitly the special character of St John's School. The story of John The Baptist is portrayed brilliantly with Mary and baby Jesus. The monument will be child sized. The Jubilee Committee is very excited about this special legacy and what it means for St John's School, now and for future generations. This legacy sculpture will be both a testament to the first 50 years of St John's School and a touchstone for the students, families and staff of St John's School for the years to come. It will be unveiled on Saturday morning, 19 March 2011 and formally blessed by Bishop Patrick Dunn. St Johns school Board of Trustees and PTFA are assisting with funding however further funding is required; we would welcome your donations towards this lasting legacy. |

As we are sure you can appreciate, in order to host the Jubilee there are some fairly significant costs. We don't think it is fair to try and recover that in ticket prices to individual events. We think that would exclude lots of people who'd like to be there but simply couldn't afford it. So in order to cover these costs we're offering the opportunity of sponsorship for the weekend's events. Not only would we be very grateful of any financial support that you can add to this milestone weekend, but we'd be proud to acknowledge your support appropriately during the various events. If you would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities in greater detail, please contact Gary Morgan on 473 9295 or e-mail gary@MTL.co.nz
Sponsorship opportunities start from $200
